Busy days for All Nippon Airways (ANA) when it comes to fleet additions.

A few days ago we were in Toulouse to welcome the amazing Flying Honu turtle-liveried A380, that will ply the Hawaii trade once it enters service next month.

Then it was the second (out of a total of three) Flying Honu emerged from the paint shop in Hamburg to show its emerald colours, evocative of Hawaii’s waters.

And this week it was time to induct another new type into the fleet, but this time it was Boeing’s turn.

ANA’s first Boeing 787-10 was delivered to the airline and flown from Boeing’s facilities in Charleston, SC, to Japan.

While ANA’s A380s will fly mostly to Honolulu, the three-class (business, premium economy and economy) Boeing 787-10 is assigned, for a start, to routes linking Tokyo Narita to Singapore Changi and Bangkok.

With this new aircraft, ANA becomes not only the first Boeing 787-10 operator in Japan, but also the only airline in Asia to fly all three versions of the Dreamliner: Boeing 787-8, 787-9 and 787-10.
