ANA gets second Flying Honu A380

ANA’s Flying Honu already has company.

The second turtle-liveried Airbus A380 was delivered yesterday to All Nippon Airways with far less fanfare than the first one last March (an occasion that we had the chance to cover live from Toulouse).

Although it features the same design pattern than the first, this Flying Honu is painted Emerald Green, a colour that is reminiscent of the tropical waters of Hawaii.

Just as the first Flying Honu, and as the third, forthcoming one, the Emerald Green Honu A380 will ply the Japan to Hawaii route and will be fitted with the same features and amenities.

It was expected to start operating its regular schedule in July, but apparently it has been possible to bring this date forward, so ANA passengers will already be able to enjoy this second Flying Honu in June.

For more information about how ANA’s Flying Honu fits into the Japanese airline’s strategy and what it means for Airbus’ winding-down A380 programme, check out my piece about this topic on AirInsight.
