Brussels Airlines presents amazing Bruegel livery

Brussels airlines keeps adding aircraft to its “Best of Belgium” series.

The latest Belgian icon (although Belgium did not exist as such at the time of his life) is 16th Century painter Pieter Bruegel the Elder, one of the most celebrated Flemish artists of all times.

Although Bruegel is famous for its depictions of peasant life. However, his highly complex compositions, often involving hundreds of characters in each scene may actually have a much deeper meanings.

When it comes to the paint-job itself, it took 19 days to complete. Making of this A320 livery the most complex ever made, according to Brussels Airlines, at least.

The scenes from Bruegel paintings were carefully curated by two Belgian artists, Jos de Gruyter & Harald Thys, and they are visible all over the fuselage, but also inside the cabin.

This is the 6th of Brussels Airlines specially painted aircraft, the others being dedicated to Tintin, the Smurfs, René Magritte, the Tomorrow Land festival and the “Red Devils”, as Belgium’s national football team is popularly known.
