New Russian airline, Azimut, to operate Superjets
More Superjet news after our recent Brussels Airlines livery story.
This time from its home market, Russia.
A new Russian airline, Azimut, is getting ready for launch and, presumably, will have a fleet of 12 Superjets. The contract for the first four has already formalized with GTLK, the State Transport Leasing Company, so they are expected to be delivered already this June for a start of operations after the summer. These first two aircraft, of the long range, "LR", version are currently in operation with Yamal, another Russian airline.
Azimut is going to be based in the Southern Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, near the Black Sea and, although there is little information available so far, it seems that is going to focus on flights to and from Southern Russia.
