On CNN: the largest Boeing 737 MAX storage place in Europe
These are times of turmoil for the aviation industry.
For some airlines, though, problems started way before Covid-19 ravaged all continents. The Boeing 737 MAX grounding has been an issue not just for its manufacturer, but also for the operators of the more than 400 aircraft of the type that had already been delivered.
Suddenly, it became imperative to find a place to keep all these aircraft for an indefinite period of time.
This is when airports such as Lleida-Alguaire, some two hours drive west of Barcelona, come into the picture.
This is the chronicle for CNN of our visit to this airport that have managed to turn itself around as an aeronautical industrial site.
