Electric aircraft, SAF & Iberia's Air Shuttle review (The Allplane Newsletter #112)

Electric Aviation

Interesting profile on Forbes of Richard Chandler, the New Zealand-born tycoon behind magniX and Eviation. LINK.

Kindly reminder that we had the, back then, CEO of magniX on the podcast!

Volotea and Air Nostrum have invested in Dante Aeronautical and its Australian venture, called Dovetail. Dante Aeronautical (whose CEO, David Doral was also a guest of the podcast!) retrofits turboprops for hybrid-electric propulsion. LINK.

Dutch electric startup Maeve received €17.5 in EU funding. Quite a lot of money, but the challenge to build a 44-seat electric aircraft is also massive. Some other players in this space, such as Heart Aerospace, had to scale down their ambitions a bit recently. LINK.

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)

Here’s another Forbes profile, this one of Bryan Sherbacow founder of Adler Fuels, which makes SAF out of biomass. LINK.

Fulcrum Bioenergy, one of the emerging players of the SAF scene, has announced it started the production of fuel using landfill waste as feedstock. So, effectively solving two problems in one go. LINK.
